In 1982 I began a series of
suspended sculptures called
"VESTS."  These were the size
of real clothing, but not
intended to be actually worn.  
Most of these were reversible
and could be displayed either
way.

I was a young mother at that
time, and many of the works
(such as
Kaboom!Vest and
Vroom-Vroom
! Vest) were
inspired by my young son and
the gender divide found in toy
store aisles.

Others were inspired by social,
environmental and political
issues of the time.
